
ACCOUNT CLOSURE AND DATA DELETION
1 INTRODUCTION
As a Payment Services Provider (PSP), Titan Payment System LTD- Titan PS is obligated by the Payment Systems and Services Act 2019, Act 987 to retain user information for a minimum period of six (6) years from the day the request is made to close account. The user information retained may be kept in a digital form or any form prescribed by the Central Bank of Ghana.
2 REQUEST ACCOUNT CLOSURE
To request account closure, send an email to customercare@mycashbox.org. The subject of the email should read, “Account Closure And Data Deletion”.
In the body of the email, tell us why you wish to close your account, and send.
3 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
When you request to close your account on MyCashBox, two (2) processes kick in;
3.1 Account Removal
This process deactivates your account, however, no data is deleted. This is in compliance with the Payment Systems and Services Act 2019, Act 987 on the issue of user information retention.
3.2 Account Purging
Account purging is the final stage of the account closure process. This stage will usually occur six (6) years from when the user's account is deactivated, in accordance with Act 987. This process completely erases all the user's information including Personal and Transactional information.
